Joy was turned into the Hayward Shelter as a stray. She passed her temperament testing, but had some barrier guarding issues in the shelter - a little snippy at the kennel door if she didn’t know you. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs was contacted to pull her into foster care. She is coming along nicely in foster care. At first, she lacked some manners in her dog-to-dog skills, and was a little confrontational when being corrected by other dogs and humans. However, that all got much better with a week of being in foster care.
She likes to play with other friendly dogs her size - she is still a little dominant in play, but takes correction better. She enjoys cuddling with people. She can still be a little confrontational if she feels threatened, but much less now, than at first.
She would do well in an experienced home either as the only dog or with a friendly, playful dog her size.
