Male, To be Neutered
56 lbs as of 3-18-2019 (at 7 months and growing)
Adoption Fee: $150 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations)
Tango was abandoned on the streets of Oakland at about 8 weeks old, maybe due to a condition called “puppy carpal laxity syndrome” which is common in Dobermans but with proper nutrition, they usually grow out of it. It appears that Tango has grown out of it as there have been no issues lately.
Tango is a very sweet boy who loves people and other dogs. He is a big goofy puppy who is very happy, playful and active. He is house broken and knows how to use a dog door. He walks pretty well on leash, especially when he is walking with another dog. He doesn't pull or bark when he walks past a stranger or another dog. Tango is crate trained but also does well without the crate when people leave the house. He got along well with the other puppies in his puppy socialization class and loves the large and small dogs at the adoption center. Tango's former foster home had a senior cat (which he occasionally tormented while trying to play.) His current foster home has two large dogs that he loves to play with. He hasn't shown any issues sharing toys, beds or attention with them. The other dogs are quite a bit older than him and don't want to play as often as he does. He doesn't always listen to them right away when they're done playing but he's getting better about finding something else to do when they are done playing. We would love Tango to go to a home that has another playful dog or two that he can learn from and play with.
Tango has not been neutered yet. Due to some early musculoskeletal development issues that have since resolved, our vet recommends neutering Tango closer to him being a year old. We CANNOT finalize any adoption until Tango has been neutered. Potential adopters will have to foster Tango for Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs until he is ready to be neutered - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Also, we will NOT consider any applications from families that plan on altering his appearance (docking the tail or cropping the ears) - NO EXCEPTIONS!
