Allie was found as a stray in the Sacramento area. While in the shelter she displayed some intermittent lameness on various limbs. Our vet diagnosed her with immune mediated polyarthritis (IMPA), which is the canine version of rheumatoid arthritis in humans. Similar to humans, Allie will be prone to periodic “flare-ups” which will need to be treated with anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs for mild flare-ups or corticosteroids for more intensive episodes).

Given her mix of German Shepherd and Cone Corso, she will need an adopter experienced with leash/barrier reactivity and protectiveness . She is great with other dogs - loves to play, easily trainable and is very loyal and loving with her family.

Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
